XFactor Bad Auditions

The X-Factor puts on people like this to make more audience members watch the show. These people are not that able singers and therefore have been selected for entertainment purposes. Young people are the main viewers of X-Factor so therefore the editors of this are using these people to encourage people to still watch because of the humour of these contestants. There are a mixture of ages shown here however they tend to be of the older generation as for younger viewers they will find this more funny because it is not of their age.
In these auditions they have edited the first audition with the song in the background in which the man is trying to sing. This song is then carried on to other auditions of a similar standard to make it entertaining for the audience to watch. Alongside this whilst the man is thinking he has a track over played of various songs he could be thinking of to show just how long he is taking to start singing.

How age is represented in films

How age is represented in films

Age is represented in different ways in films. For example in the film 'Up' (showed in the picture above) shows the older generation in a positive way as in the film he helps the teenage scout to succeed in getting his 'helping the elderly badge'. The man in the film is shown at the start as a the 'stereotypical old man'; this is how he refuses to answer the door at first to the boy and it just grumpy how he lives on his own. However after been given a chance he shows his nice side and soon becomes attached to the younger boy.

This media is a positive representation and i have chosen this because as it is a children's film it has been designed by the media to get children to give old people a chance. In the image you can see he his holding onto the rope with the child and this shows a built trust between the two and that they have grown fond of each other. However in the photo the older man shows a worry in his face which could suggest that he isn't sure of how this friendship with the child might turn out as it is an usual situation for the public to see.

Disney Pixar is a child friendly which means that they try to send out the positive message to children and family viewers. The producers of this media film would have done this to create and underline messages that all older people are not the same and to represent the energy being transferred from the young child to the old in the picture shown above.
